Ouachita High Senior to attend Cornell University this Fall [Video]

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Ouachita parish high school senior Jacob Green will be attending Cornell university this fall to major in economics. Green is this year’s valedictorian, maintaining a 4.0 gpa while also being a member of the band, student government, and several other educational and service-based organizations.

“So, one major thing that I wanted to do was help my community, so I do want to go into financial development to build my finances for my own self, but also I want to come back to my own community and help teach financial literacy to the black community because I believe that’s very important in establishing generational growth for ourselves, but also our community.” said Green.

Green says all hope is not lost for other young scholars waiting for college acceptances.
