The day after his son was born, Chris Corinthian received a phone call from his supervisor at work—he was geting laid off. He had no money, no emergency reserve, no backup plan, and nowhere to go. Soon, he would lose every possession he had to fire, forcing him to start from scratch even with tens of thousands in student loans left to pay. Now, fifteen years later, Chris is on the path to FIRE and teaching OTHERS how to not end up in the same position as him.

Chris thought he was playing it safe with a six-figure job, but whatever money came in always came back out due to frivolous spending. Soon after getting fired, Chris found a new way to manage his personal finances, allowing him to finally save and invest, bringing him closer to financial independence and anxiety-free finances. But a huge part of the journey was still tackling the student debt he wishes he had been more educated about as a teenager.
