Talladega police chief announces retirement after 2 years citing lack of support from city council [Video]

The city of Talladega’s first female police chief announced her retirement at a Monday city council meeting.Chief Diane Thomas said the decision to leave her job was easy to make after she felt like she wasn’t supported by the city council. During her two years as police chief, crime has gone down and the department got equipment upgrades, but she said she also felt humiliated by things the city council did. She claims some council members went to scenes inappropriately and accusing her of things that were out of her control.
