NFL programs make Super Bowl week outreach to New Orleans students [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Students at Fannie C. Williams Charter School in New Orleans East learned skills on the football field Tuesday (Feb. 4) designed to benefit them now and later in life.

As part of Super Bowl LIX week, current and former NFL players and coaches interacted with the students during Laureus USA’s Sport for Good event.

Louisiana native and former NFL safety Eric Reid was among those giving students guidance on the field.

“We can teach the kids how to be dedicated in sports, how to have fun, how to be disciplined, follow instructions. Those attributes will follow them throughout their life,” Reid said.

Students said they appreciated the on-the-field activities, as well as the inspiration they received.

“I feel they’re trying to help encourage us for our future,” said Kadeline Aguilar, an eighth-grader.
