New program providing professional court attire to victims and witnesses in need [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The saying “dress for success” holds true when it comes to the impact of clothes on our self-confidence.

But, for many victims and witnesses testifying in court, appropriate court attire may be out of reach due to financial hardships.

“Often we have victims that just don’t have a wardrobe that is great for court, we’ve even had victims assistants who have swapped clothes with them at the last minute to make sure that they felt confident walking into the courtroom,” said Katy Urban the Public Information Officer for the Pennington County State Attorney’s Office.

Dress for Dignity is a program created by the Pennington County State Attorney’s Office partnering with local businesses to provide professional clothing to victims and witnesses.
