New alliance pushes East 38th Street Renaissance in Indianapolis [Video]

The 38th Street corridor has struggled for years. But advocates hope the new alliance can help turn things around.

INDIANAPOLIS — On Wednesday, New Direction Church and The National Bank of Indianapolis (NBI) partnered to announce the launch of “East 38th Street Renaissance.”

It’s an ongoing initiative to spark revitalization, economic empowerment and financial literacy in the surrounding community.

“The East 38th Street Renaissance represents our commitment to not just our congregation but to our entire neighborhood,” said Pastor Dr. Kenneth Sullivan Jr. of New Direction Church. “This partnership with The National Bank of Indianapolis underscores our shared belief in creating lasting change through economic opportunity and community development.”

The bank will work with the church to offer financial education workshops, one-on-one financial consultants, and down payment assistance to first-time home buyers.
