Michael Rainey Jr. gave back to his hometown of Staten Island in a huge way.
The “PowerBook II: Ghost” star launched a $2.4 million financial literacy initiative in partnership with The Recovery Education Foundation and Equifax. The actor held the event at Port Richmond High School, where he shared his personal journey with the students there and the importance of financial literacy.
In the video, Rainey Jr. also spoke to the senior class who are getting ready to graduate and head into the real world. According to reports, the initiative is set to “provide students with identity protection, credit monitoring, and a digital curriculum to prepare them for a financially secure future.”
The launch of Michael Rainey Jr.’s program is a step in the right direction to help these students become the next generation of leaders and more with the proper education.
