LEE COUNTY, Fla. — When nurses Kristin Barlow, Cassie Kaspar and Jennifer De Leon made their way onto the stage at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Center, they were greeted with a standing ovation.
One year earlier, the trio had saved a grandfather’s life at Walt Disney World. The man, John Cerar, believes he would have died if it weren’t for the quick thinking of the nurses who were there participating in a “runDisney” event.
Kristin, Cassie and Jennifer were honored with an American Red Cross Lifesaving Award at Lee Health’s quarterly leadership forum.
Hundreds of people were in attendance to see the nurses receive the honor, which is a national award.
