Junior Achievement helps teach work-readiness and entrepreneurship at Middlebury school [Video]

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – Bridging the business world with education, the non-profit Junior Achievement took over Orchard View Elementary in Middlebury Monday to teach students different aspects of finance, business, and entrepreneurship.

20 volunteers from across the community used hands-on activities to teach them about work-readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.

Orchard View counselor, Lara Palmer, says it’s an important partnership that allows kids to make connections and ask questions about future careers.

Palmer went on to state, ” To have members within our community come in and do some lessons with our students to help them just have some understanding about both our local, our global economy, and how even at this young age, we can start to learn about how the world works around us.”

Officials hope the students will see what adults in their area are doing, so they can better understand the roles they could one day play …
