Irish Funds launches next phase of Transition Year financial literacy programme [Video]

Irish Funds, the industry association for funds and asset management, has announced the next phase of its Transition Year programme to improve financial literacy.

More than 1,100 school students have benefitted from the programme since it launched in 2022 in response to findings that nearly half of Irish adults lack the minimum financial literacy necessary for effective money management.

The pilot launched in 12 schools before expanding to 18 schools in Galway, Sligo, Roscommon, Offaly, Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Wicklow, Louth, and Dublin in 2023/24.

A total of 15 schools have already committed to taking part in the programme for this academic year, including six in Dublin and nine in regional areas.

Lead facilitator Eibhlin Johnston and dedicated industry volunteers deliver the programme in classrooms, making it a robust and engaging learning experience for students.
