Hornets star holds hoops, financial literacy camp for local kids [Video]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the second straight year, Charlotte native and Hornets forward Grant Williams hosted a youth basketball camp in his hometown.

But the focus wasn’t just on the court, but in the classroom too.

Last week, 200 boys and girls from ages 8 to 16 took part in the camp, which included financial literacy sessions guided by professionals from Morgan Stanley’s Global Sports & Entertainment Division.

Topics included NIL, wealth-building and basic financial knowledge.

“Financial literacy is critical,” Williams said. “They take it back to their families. Sometimes their parents may not know what they’re learning. At a young age, it allows you to be informed and live your life in a better way, but it also allows you to help your family.”
