Former NFL Star Ryan Anderson hosts annual football camp in Daphne [Video]

DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – In Daphne, retired NFL player Ryan Anderson returned to his roots, hosting an engaging football camp for young athletes.

“Growing up in this community, we didn’t have a lot of people that came back and poured into us and we’re a big football, like athlete town,” Anderson explained.

Anderson, a former Alabama star, aimed to give back to the community that shaped him by sharing his love of football and discussing important topics like financial literacy.

This year, Anderson introduced a new element to his camp, partnering with Home Depot and his company, 22 Builds Custom Homes, to teach students about the trades industry. The kids got hands-on experience building mini homes, adding a unique twist to their football camp experience.
