FERGUSON, Mo. — On a Friday evening, Talina Deering went to a YMCA in Ferguson — not for recreation time, but for a two-hour-long session on how to balance a budget, rebuild her financial portfolio and become debt-free.
“I’m coming here to get more education about how to save money to purchase a new home,” said Deering.
The city of Ferguson held what it called a “Financial Literacy Event” to kick off its 10th Annual Unity Weekend.
Experts had candid talks with citizens and business owners about many money matters.
