Charmed and Chosen, Inc. presented check in support of foster youth [Video]

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A local non-profit that helps steer youth and young adults in the right direction got a nice donation on Friday.

Charmed and Chosen, Inc. opened its doors in Bakersfield in March of 2024. It was started by two mothers who saw a big need to help young people in the community during the pandemic.On Sept. 13, the non-profit received a $5,000 donation collected from various organizations in Kern County.

“We’re focused on mentoring, educating the kids on financial literacy, making sure that they are mentally and physically strong and ready for college,” said co-founder LaShaka Pleasant-Davis. “If they’re not college-bound we’re making sure they know the importance of having a trade.”
