From Unused Space to Productive Oasis: Transforming a Room into a Functional Office for Two [Video]

Watch as we turn this unused space into an office for two! We started off at the hardware store to gather all the lumber and materials required for this project. We chose the ‘Coffee’ Minwax Gel Stain to create a rich and inviting look for this space. We painted the back wall and side panels with a dark forest green color, and then installed the stained planks as shelves. Next, we used a sheet of 1/2-inch MDF board to cut out arches, adding character and depth to the design. We painted the arches with the same green color and then positioned them over the shelving, creating a seamless look. Next, we installed electrical wiring to incorporate two wall sconces on each side of the built-in for added lighting. We discovered these fantastic durable laminate countertops that provided a modern touch to the space. And then a cork backsplash was added to allow for convenient placement of paperwork and notes above the workspace.
